About the Event
Mari Hannah is better placed than most to understand writing a brilliant police procedural – a former probation officer, her career was cut short by an assault whilst on duty, which is when she turned to writing. She lives in rural Northumbria with her partner, an ex- murder detective. Her novels include the Stone & Oliver series, and her Kate Daniels series has been optioned by Stephen Fry’s production company.
Fiona Cummins is an award-winning former Daily Mirror showbusiness journalist and a graduate of the Faber Academy Writing A Novel course. Her first two books Rattle and The Collector were devoured by fans of creepy serial killer murder tales. Her latest stand alone novel The Neighbour has been described as 'superbly sinister'.
Trevor Wood is one half of a North East based playwrighting duo who with his partner Ed Waugh have seen eight of their plays become hugely successful hits playing to packed houses nationally and internationally. His first crime novel The Man on the Street is published next year.
Amer Anwar has been described as 'the authentic voice of Brit Asian Noir' with his gritty and compelling debut novel Brothers in Blood making the Times Crimes Books of the Year list.
Hailed as 'the heir to Tana French's throne' by The Irish Times, Olivia Kiernan's debut thriller Too Close To Breathe was published last year and introduced DCS Frankie Sheehan. Its follow-up The Killer In Me was published in April this year.
