Colm Tóibín has always been fascinated by mothers, so when he turned his attention to the most famous mother of all, in The Testament of Mary
, it’s no surprise he painted a less-than-immaculate portrait of the Madonna.
Inspired by Tóibín’s portrayal, artist Rachel Whiteread collaborated with the author to produce a limited edition book, TESTAMENT
, which features ten distinctive photographs from her personal collection.
Chaired by author and biographer Wendy Jones.
