To be alive is to be in perpetual change: growing, healing, learning, aging. Some we have little choice about: puberty, menopause or our hair turning grey. But others might be welcome milestones such as pregnancy, recovery from illness or even a long awaited transition to another gender. Gavin draws on history, art, literature, myth and magic to show how change is the very essence of being human.
