Perception, movement, embodied experience and feelings of self are themes that come up again and again in Eliasson's work.
On the publication of his new illustrated book Olafur Eliasson: Experience, tracking his career from its start, the artist examines his drive to connect art to the pressing issues of our times.
Eliasson's works have been exhibited internationally in institutions such as MoMA, Tate and Southbank Centre's Hayward Gallery. His work covers a range of media, from painting, sculpture and photography, to architectural projects, installations and ambitious interventions in public space.
He seeks to make his art relevant to society at large, engaging the public in striking ways both inside and outside the museum.
