Rein Raud will be chatting with English novelist David Szalay about the role of fiction in global politics, especially in the context of Brexit and the European crisis. Rein Raud has written eight novels in addition to several collections of short stories, poetry, and numerous essays. His most recent novel translated into English is
The Death of the Perfect Sentence, a political thriller set during the dying days of the Soviet Union.
David Szalay’s latest book, All that Man Is deals with European masculinity in crisis, as nine men in scattered parts of Europe try to understand what it means to be alive. It was shortlisted for the Booker Prize in 2016.
