Debut writers Guy Gunaratne
and Kim Sherwood
, chaired by Patrick Gale.
Join us for drinks and literary adventures on our stunning riverside rooftop, for London’s only Rooftop Book Club in the company of two amazing debut writers who are garnering much acclaim. Chaired by Patrick Gale, this will be a night of epic bookish proportions.
Guy Gunaratne’s debut novel In Our Mad and Furious City is published on the day of the event, and his blistering debut is an unforgettable portrayal of 48 hours on a London council estate. Provocative, raw, poetic yet tender, In Our Mad and Furious City marks the arrival of a major new talent in fiction.
Kim Sherwood's extraordinary first novel Testament from Quercus is a powerful statement of intent. Beautifully written, moving and hopeful, it crosses the tidemark where the third generation meets the first, finding a new language to express love, loss and our place within history. It will be published on the 12th July so this is a chance to hear about it before anyone else.
We are honoured to have bestselling and hugely acclaimed author Patrick Gale chairing this event.
