About This Event

Set at the heart of 1930s America, White Houses is a fictionalised account of real-life reporter Lorena 'Hick' Hickok and the hidden love affair between herself and the First Lady, Eleanor Roosevelt. Told with Bloom’s astute eye for character, the novel shines a light on these two key female figures, and their relationship, air-brushed as they often are from American history.
Join Bloom in conversation with freelance editor, writer and blogger Lee Randall on the love that bound these two women and the world they lived in, and how history is written.
